We are a local chapter of the National Honor Flight, whose purpose is to send every World War II veteran to see their National Memorial in Washington, D.C. before time runs out. The youngest World War II veteran in now 79 years old. Each day, 1,200 to 1,500 World War II veterans join those who did not make it home without knowing how very grateful we are as a nation for their sacrifices.
The Honor Flight programs fly veterans to Washington, D.C. to view their memorial, tour other historic sites and visit the Arlington National Cemetery. The programs furnish round trip plane tickets, hotel accomodations, ground travel, meals, wheelchairs, etc.; all at no cost to the veteran.
We need your financial support to make this worthy cause possible. This is urgent; the world owes these veterans so much. Please do what you can to help us accomplish our goal.
Your donation is tax deductible. Please make your check payable to “Ellis County Honor Flight” or “Communities Foundation of Texas” with “Ellis County Honor Flight” in the memo line.
